Details for Tonight's Meet
Good Morning and Happy Saturday to all of you lovely people!
I hope everyone is excited and ready for our very first swim meet of the season!!! I'm so sad that I cannot be there tonight to watch our kiddos swim fast and show off their beautiful diving skills!
As a reminder the official meet start time is 7:20 and the location is Mountain Park Aquatic Center in Stone Mountain (1063 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30087). The bus will be leaving from the school at 5:15.
The rest of the timing is as follows:
6 pm: workers can enter the facility
6:15 pm: athletes can enter the facility and have access to restrooms, locker rooms, and deck
6:30 pm: spectators can enter the facility (no deck access)
Thanks to all who have signed up to volunteer tonight. Please make sure to arrive in time and to let Ines Hasic (Mia's mom) know that you are there so you can receive credit for volunteering tonight. We have lots of new faces so please help Ines out by letting her know you are there.
Since we haven't had a team meeting yet, there are a few questions from the new families so I want to try to address them here.
The kids should plan on riding on the bus to and from the meet. If there are any exceptions to be made, please communicate those with Coach Malstrom.
We have jackets for our new team members and team t shirts for all of our kids but since those haven't been delivered yet, the new members of the team can wear anything Collins Hill if they have it. And existing team members should wear any Collins Hill swim spirit wear that they already have. The theme for tonight's meet is "Pink Out" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month so all of the kids can participate in that and the families are welcome to join in as well! The kids should also plan on bringing the usual towel(s), caps, goggles, and weather appropriate clothing for before, after, and during the meet.
The kids are welcome to pack snacks or food for during the meet if they would like. I know some of the kids do not like to eat until after the meet while others do. But they should definitely pack water bottles. I believe concessions will be sold at the meet so parents and athletes are welcome to take advantage of that. I do not have any details about concessions for tonight.
GO EAGLES!
